In the fall of every year, the Northern Ontario Country Music Association holds a Country Music Awards show.  During the show, we have performances by members of the Great Northern Opry, and special guests.  During the show, one or two artists are inducted into the Northern Ontario Country Music Hall of Fame, and a number of others are inducted into the Great Northern Opry.

A few years ago, the event was expanded to be a full weekend of activities.  The weekend includes four shows over three days.  The Friday night show sometimes includes a feature entertainer.  For example, our 2014 show included Jim Owen of Branson Missouri.  Jim performed some of his music and also did some comedy. Busloads of visitors from all over Northern Ontario come to attend this special event, honouring the best Country Music Talent from Northern Ontario.

On Saturday night, we hold our Awards Ceremony.  Following that there is a second Great Northern Opry Show and Dance.  The weekend concludes with a Country Music Gospel Show on Sunday Morning until noon.

Over the past few years, the weekend events have been held at the Quattro Hotel and Conference Centre in Sault Ste. Marie.  The show always occurs on the first weekend in November. Contact Us if you are interested in attending the next event.
